HP Families,

As we wrap up our final week of school, we want to wish our families a happy, healthy and safe summer break. These past ten months at HP have been filled with medical challenges and loss within our school and the greater community. However, there have also been moments of true joy and hope. I am so very proud to be the principal of such an amazing school community.

Today, our Class of 2025 8th graders and retirees had their final CLAP OUT. PreK-7 students and staff cheered our 8th graders on in an emotional and joyful tribute. On Tuesday evening, the Class of 2025 had their formal graduation exercises. We wish our 8th graders all the best as they move on to high school.

We would like to recognize several HP Staff members who are retiring from education. Teacher: Ms. Giannella with 14 years, Instructional Aide: Ms. Page with 16 years and Lunch Aide: Ms. Bucceroni with 16 years of service. We wish them all good health, happiness, and rest!

As a reminder, Trimester 3 grades closed and report cards were posted yesterday, Thursday, June 19th.

Families can expect their class placement and schedules to be released between August 27th and August 29th. Please note that we CAN NOT take teacher or friend requests on a rolling basis in the summer. Administration and staff work diligently in June to generate and balance class lists. We take into account many variables that are at play and we ask for your support. It is important that in the summer months, when engaging with your children about the upcoming school year, we emphasize each year as a new opportunity to meet and make new friends and experience new teachers.

We are back offering our families school supply kits online that get shipped directly to your home! Please go to www.schooltoolbox.com and pick the grade your child/children will be in the Fall of 2025.

Posted on the school website is the 2025-2026 school calendar. As we head into summer, a reminder that school reopens FOR THE STAFF ONLY on Tuesday, September 2nd and the 1st Day for students will be on Thursday, September 4th!

Students entering grades 3-8 received math and reading summer packets. If your child loses the packet, please find one on our website HERE

From the Health Office: If your child has recently or is going for their yearly check up, please submit their completed physical form to the nurses at hpnurses@hpsd.org. If your child will be playing a fall or winter sport, please forward their completed athletic forms to the nurses by the first week in September. Forms can be found on the health office page of the school website. Email the nurses if you have any questions.

Happy and Healthy Summer, HP!
