The HP Wrap Up - June 6, 2025

HP Community,

As we wrap up this week, a huge thank you to all nine student council presidential groups who participated this year—the highest number of candidates we've had in years! Your willingness to step up, speak out, and share your ideas took guts and showed true leadership.

After thoughtful presentations, interviews and voting, we are excited to announce the 2025-2026 Student Council Presidents are: Noah Ahn, Nathan Ahn, and Dylan Song! Congratulations, we look forward to seeing the impact you'll make on HP next year!

Last night, our 8th graders had their traditional semi-formal Dinner Dance at the Old Tappan Manor. Today, Pre-K had their year-end moving up ceremony. Check out photos from both on social media.

In other news, we hosted Field Days this week for all students. Thank you to our awesome Physical Education Department for their planning efforts! On Monday evening, we hosted a “Summer Book Tasting” for students in grades 3 & 4. Thank you to Ms. Weber & Ms. McHale. Students got to browse some potential summer reads and everyone who participated went home with a new book!

We are excited to share that grade level School Kits for the 25-26 School Year are now available for purchase and will be shipped directly to your home! Go to https://schooltoolbox.com/school-supplies/

In sports news, what an unforgettable week for the HP Girls Softball team! After finishing the regular season as the #1 seed, the girls earned a bye and came out strong in our playoff game on Tuesday, 6/3 against Closter. Closter jumped out to a quick 3–1 lead after the first inning, but our girls stayed composed and fired back with two runs in the bottom of the second to tie the game 3–3. The next inning remained locked down on both sides. Then, in the bottom of the 4th, Alyssa Criaris sparked the momentum with a clutch triple and bold steal home to take the lead. Paige Radoian crushed a shot to center that was robbed, but Olive Schryver followed up with a huge 2-out hit to right and hustled all the way home for a solo home run. The Spartans caught fire in the 5th inning, adding 5 more runs and securing a 10–4 victory. On Wednesday, 6/4, the girls faced Old Tappan in the championship game—and what a performance it was. The first two innings were close and competitive. Olive Schryver’s smart base running helped give us the early lead, with Alyssa Criaris and Paige Radoian driving her in. Paige Palmer, pitching back-to-back games, was in complete control on the mound and also delivered three massive hits at the plate. By the 3rd inning, HP found its rhythm. With explosive hitting, smart baserunning, and seamless communication, the Spartans scored 10 more runs between the 3rd and 5th innings. The defense was locked in across the infield and outfield, allowing just one run from OT. The game ended in the 5th by mercy rule with a 12–1 championship win! This team has grown so much, and every single player contributed to this incredible journey. Coach Rallo is beyond proud of the heart, hustle, and unity these girls have shown all season long.
