On Wednesday, students in 1st grade participated in a “ Love Your Lunch” Program sponsored by the KPA. Students had guest readers and a special lunch treat from the KPA.

In sports news, The Spartan Softball Team battled hard in a thrilling matchup against Old Tappan on Monday. Paige Palmer took the mound and pitched a complete game, showing poise and power throughout. The game started slow for HP, with OT jumping ahead 3-0 in the bottom of the first. But the Spartans answered back in the top of the second, with six runs fueled by aggressive, heads-up base running. HP added another run in the fourth to extend the lead, but OT tied it up 7-7 in the bottom of the fifth. Despite the momentum shift, our team stayed composed and focused. In the sixth, HP pushed across two more key runs, then locked in defensively. Paige Palmer was lights out in the final innings, allowing only one OT batter to reach base and shutting the door for a well-earned 9-7 victory. Unfortunately, both Wednesday’s and Thursday’s games were rained out. The rescheduled matchup against Old Tappan (originally set for May 14) will now be played on Monday, May 19. Our final game of the regular season is set for Tuesday, May 20 at Haworth. The Spartans head into the final week of regular season sitting in first place. We are incredibly proud of the teamwork, and determination our players have shown all season.
Below is a flyer that was shared with families in grades 3 & 4 this week related to a Family Literacy Night.
