The HP Wrap Up - January 24, 2025

As we wrap up this week at HP, our annual 100th Day of School Food Drive is underway! Please see the below flyer with the needed items.

Please note that registration for Kindergarten is open. Please go to www.hpsd.org, select About Us and Admissions and be sure to select the 25-26 school year. Students must be 5 by October 1, 2025.

Our Kind Kids Club is running a Pajama Drive through the J.A.R. Project leading up to Valentine’s Day. Please see the below flyer for more details.

Attention 8th Grade Artists! If you are interested in painting a stool in the Art Room, our morning 8th Grade Mini Murals will begin on Friday, February 7th. Use the sign-up link below. Space in this class is VERY LIMITED with only 6 spots available so sign up early. The class will close once all 6 spots are filled. We will be meeting at 8:05 in the Art Room on the following Fridays: 2/7, 2/14 and 2/28. You MUST be available those mornings to participate. Click here to sign up. Questions? pidane@hpsd.org.

Attention Parents/Guardians of 6th and 7th Graders: The 2025 Yearbook can now be ordered by any interested 6th and 7th grader. Order forms were provided in homeroom but can also be accessed using the link: Order Form. Payment (checks made payable to Harrington Park Board of Education) must be handed in with the order form. All orders should be sent back to the school ATTN: Ms. Pidane. Deadline to Order: Friday, January 31, 2025. NOTE: 8th graders DO NOT need to order a book. Questions: pidane@hpsd.org.

In sports news, The boys' basketball team finished a busy week of games yesterday with an exciting win over Norwood! The boys worked hard from start to finish and put forth a great defensive effort and timely shooting. The boys were led by Sean Blanchard's leadership and game-high 20 points. The boys also lost a tough game on Tuesday at the hands of an excellent OT squad. Despite the loss, 16 different Spartans got a chance to play and Will Pavone and Kellen Hutchinson also scored their first baskets of the season. The Boys will be in action on Monday when they play at Closter in the first round of the league playoffs. Good luck boys!

The girls' basketball team played an amazing game on Tuesday, beating the undefeated Old Tappan. This win moves the Spartans into the 1st place slot! The team also won their game against Norwood on Wednesday to finish out the regular season with 11 wins and 1 loss. Paige Palmer led the girls in scoring this week with 35 points. Kami Bird had 18, Sophie Donnelly had 17, Quinn Hutchinson scored 11, Eden Canarick had 8, Tierney Waldron and Paige Radoian scored 4, La' Ajah Grayson had 3, and Sammy Finer, Addison Beezer, and Ayzah Mailk scored 2 points. Charlotte Forma, Grace Lynch, Chloe Han, and Alyssa Criaris played well on defense. Maddie Plescia kept up the positivity on the bench while out with an ankle injury. The girls will move on to the second round of playoffs at home next Tuesday!

HP Kind Kids is sponsoring The J.A.R Project The JAR Project PJ DRIVE January 23-February 11 About ~ The J.A.R. Project was founded to honor the loving and giving spirit of John A. Reilley (Mrs. Reilley's husband). While bravely fighting cancer, John never stopped putting the needs of others before his own. Even on his toughest days, his heart went out to children battling cancer and other chronic illnesses. Mission ~ to send a gift of love, hope, and perseverance to children living with a chronic illness or facing hardships.
