Project Pride

In 2007, a committed group of parents, students and school administrators found Harrington Park's Project Pride Initiative. Rooted in the belief that community service helps to extend the learning that our students experience in the classroom groups of students, teachers and administrators would spend time working in a variety of settings giving back to the community.

Key Activities Include:
Reverse Inclusion - HP Students and children from a neighboring Autism program share lunch two days per week. Besides having lunch together students also have recess time to practice socialization skills and enjoy each other's company. Students from the program are also invited to take part in our monthly coffeehouse program.

Hebrew Union - Four times per year, students head into New York City to prepare, serve and clean up a full meal service for the homeless and working poor of New York City. Hebrew Union College has served meals every Monday for the past sixteen years and HP is proud to take part in it.

Watershed - Working with United Water, HP students travel to a local reservoir and fill up bag after bag with garbage and other recyclable materials. This activity, along with the others that we offer, is open to all students.
