    8. Word Problems: write equations, solve multi-step routine and non-routine problems

    B. Homework Policy

    Homework is assigned daily. Homework is always checked and reviewed. Each missing homework assignment results in a loss of 5 points from the quiz grade. Incomplete assignments count as missing assignments. Written parental notes and signatures are the only acceptable excuses. Forgetting the necessary notebook, workbook, or worksheet is not acceptable. Organization and responsibility are the keys to a student's success.

    C. Grading

    1. Test scores count twice

    2. Quiz scores

    3. Missing homework grade counts as quiz score

    4. Projects count as a test score or a quiz score

    5. Extra credit will be in the form of weekly Poster Problems

    3 out of 8 Correct = 1 point added to final average

    5 out of 8 Correct = 2 points added to final average

    8 out of 8 Correct = 3 points added to final average

    D. Extra Help

    After school any day of the week except Mondays.

    Grade 6 Advanced Math

    I. Purpose

    The objective of the math curriculum this year is to learn and master skills that will not only help the students succeed in higher mathematics but will foster the skills that apply to everyday life. My aim is to demonstrate and strengthen correct study skills and work habits so necessary to succeed in their future studies.

    5. Decimals: ALL OPERATIONS

    6. Ratio, Proportions, and Percent

    8. Word Problems: write equations, solve multi-step routine and non-routine problems

    III. Homework Policy

    Homework is assigned daily. Homework is always checked and reviewed. Students will begin each marking period with a homework TEST grade of 100%. Each missing homework assignment results in a loss of 5 points from that score. Incomplete assignments count as missing assignments. Written parental notes and signatures are the only acceptable excuses. Forgetting the necessary notebook, workbook, or worksheet is not acceptable. Organization and responsibility are the keys to a student's success.

    IV. Grading

    An average of the following will determine a students grade.

    1. Test scores count twice

    2. Homework grade counts twice

    3. Quiz scores count once

    4. Projects count as a test score

    5. Extra credit will be in the form of bonus questions on each test.

    V. Extra Help

    After school any day of the week except Mondays.
