• Virtual Snow Day—Day 1

    Period 1/2:

    -Read a book.
    -Write the title of your book.
    - Write the names of the author and illustrator.
         -The author writes the book.
         -The illustrator draws the pictures.
    -Draw the setting of the story.
         -The setting is where and when the story takes place.
    -Write down the character(s) names.
    -Write what the problem and solution was. 
         -The problem is what went wrong.
         -The solution is how the problem was fixed. 
     
     
    -Writing Prompt:
    Write about your favorite activity to do.  Be sure to include transition words as well as specific details.
    (Bring your completed story in on the next day we meet and be prepared to share with your class)
     
     
    Period 3/7:
     
    -Read a book. 
    -Identify the front and back cover, title page, and spine of the book. 
    -Write the title of your book.
    -Write the names of the author and illustrator.
    -Evaluate the story:  be prepared to share what you liked and/or did not like about the book, as well as why you feel this way. 
     
    -Read the following words.  On a piece of paper, illustrate each word.  Bring your paper to school on the next day we meet.
    flag, grass, ship, ring, skunk, swing
     

    Period 4/6:

    -Read a book.
    -Write the title of your book.
    - Write the names of the author and illustrator.

    Think of a place you love or strongly dislike and write a story about a time that you went there.  You can use any piece of paper you have available at home.  Bring your completed story to school tomorrow.
