HP receives Jefferson Award

The Harrington Park District is pleased to announce that Project Pride has been selected to receive the Jefferson Award for leadership development and public service. The Jefferson Awards are presented on two levels: national and local. They began in 1972 to create a Nobel Prize for public service. Today, their primary purpose is to serve as a "Call to Action for Volunteers" in local communities.

For the past 6 years, Harrington Park School has been working towards the goal of developing the future leaders of America, while also developing 21st century skills for the future success of our children. The Jefferson Awards are a prestigious national recognition system honoring community and public service in America. Harrington Park School’s Project Pride embodies the core vision of the Jefferson Award as it inspires, energizes and engages students in the development of the idea that what we do in this life is bigger than oneself. The district is incredibly proud to have received this award as it validates a core value that believes in outstanding academic achievement as well as believing that the children of HP will continue to "Lead the Way".
